Stress Relief Meditation

The Kundalini meditation for stress relief is effective for relieving stress generated from a current stressful relationship or to clear emotional residual from stressful relationships from your past.

Emotions from the past can linger for decades.

You cannot always walk away from a stressful relationship, particularly if the stress comes from dealing with a child, parent, or other intimate relationship. What you do have control over is how you let the relationship affect you and your well-being.

Emotions from our past often lie in the unconscious mind and still dictate our reactions to present circumstances until cleared away.


Stress Relief Meditation

Sit in a cross legged position on the floor with a straight spine, or in a chair if you prefer.

Before you begin this meditation create a sacred space by tuning in. Begin by chanting the mantra Ong Namo, Guru Dev Namo three times. This calls upon the higher wisdom of the heart and aligns you with your authentic self.

The hands form a mudra in front of the heart center by pointing the fingers up and touching the tips together, including the thumbs. The eyes are slightly open and gently focus on the tip of the nose (this may take a bit of practice, but it becomes easy in time).

The rhythm of the breath is as follows:

  • Inhale for 5 seconds
  • Suspend the breath for 5 seconds
  • Exhale for 5 seconds

Begin with 3-11 minutes and you may work up to 31 minutes.

Make sure your body posture is relaxed throughout the meditation. Your spine remains straight, but nothing is rigid.

I recommend 11-Minutes for 40 days. For most people, this is a manageable amount of time, and you will begin to see a shift in your response to stressful situations before the 40 days is up. Remember, it takes 40 days to change a habit.
